Rum is my passion and, as some of you might know, passions don’t always translate into income – that being said I am not planning to stop anytime soon. Running this blog single-handedly is not easy and I am always on the hunt for both relevant rums to review, but also rare bottlings that normally wouldn’t be easy to get your hands on. It’s true that I do get the occasional samples or even bottles sometimes, but the rum universe is too broad to limit yourself to freebies.

Simply put, a good chunk of my time and budget is invested in The Rum Barrel, trying to help consumers make decisions about what rum to buy, or simply putting out tasting notes for those that are curious. I’m not complaining, it’s entirely my choice, but it’s also my decision to try and get some of that investment back.

I already have affiliate links in place – if anything is purchased through a link on my website, I’ll get a percentage of the sale so that’s one way to support my work. The other options are to buy some swaggy TRB merchandise or just tip me directly.
